press release

Incorporating Heery’s enhanced project and program management offer into Turner & Townsend's business gives them the scale, capacity and capability to support any project of any size and complexity, anywhere in the U.S.

In January this year Turner & Townsend welcomed public sector project and program management specialists Heery into its U.S. business from CBRE.

From 1 April the Heery team will operate in the U.S. market as Turner & Townsend Heery under the continued leadership of Executive Vice President, Rob Chomiak.

Bringing 350 new colleagues from CBRE Heery into the Turner & Townsend team takes the overall headcount in the US to nearly 1,500 employees. It also substantially increases the geographical reach, giving Turner & Townsend two new office locations and strengthening its market presence in 12 of Turner & Townsend’s existing 19 U.S. locations

The coming together of Turner & Townsend Heery has been delivered through the company's wider strategic partnership with CBRE, leveraging the strength of Turner & Townsend's advice to clients across the project lifecycle and consolidating its geographic reach. Heery was acquired by CBRE in 2017 and Heery's longstanding design, engineering and commissioning practice remains as part of CBRE.

Founded in 1952, Heery specialises in project and program management for public sector organisations, including local and federal government, aviation, healthcare and education providers, and cultural and sporting institutions.

Landmark projects for Heery across the U.S. have included major expansion and capital investment projects for Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta and Miami airports, and K-12 public schools programs in many of the largest U.S. school districts including Miami, Atlanta, Portland, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, Dallas and Houston.

Heery also has a track record of delivering Government projects, including renovation of the U.S. Department of State headquarters and the Calexico Land Port of Entry, as well as projects for the General Services Administration, National Institute of Health, Social Security Administration, Department of Agriculture, and National Archives and Records Administration. Its other public sector clients include the United States Postal Service, Freddie Mac, the Federal Reserve Board and the International Monetary Fund.

This experience closely complements Turner & Townsend’s support for high-profile government and public sector projects, as well as its work in key strategic growth markets for the U.S. including green industries, infrastructure, logistics, manufacturing and life sciences.

Turner & Townsend Heery and CBRE Global Workplace Solutions specialists also continue to collaborate closely to provide integrated services to public sector clients.

“The addition of Turner & Townsend Heery enables us to rapidly expand our project management offering across North America, creating a compelling proposition for clients that brings access to a diverse suite of services, experience and geographies.

The move also supports our wider goal at Turner & Townsend to deepen relationships across the public and private sectors as it diversify its operational model.”

“Coming together with Turner & Townsend marks a new stage in our business’ evolution.

As Turner & Townsend Heery, the combined expertise will give clients access to leading global market insight, data and digital platforms as they navigate an increasingly complex construction and investment landscape.

For the team, this act of joining forces will help create a fantastic platform for career growth – opening up further opportunities to expand their experience and capabilities, supporting even bigger and more challenging projects.”
